Considering that they only charted one hit record,
the band "Steam" was put together in 1970 to tour and promote their
#1 hit released in 1969. "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" recorded
by two writers in the studio was never expected to be a hit. The song,
released in 1969, rode the charts for over a year, has been the anthem
for the Chicago White Sox, and is one of those 70s hits of which listeners
never seem to tire.
Today Willy Williams continues to perform his own
arrangement of the song. Everybody loves to sing along! He invites
everybody to perform with the band, handing out autographed percussion
instruments fans are welcome to keep! Audience participation is the
trademark of a great live performance, and Willy Williams continues
to uphold the tradition that made the original "Steam" famous!
